Venice Ruth Bell Wood passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 4, 2012.
Mother was born on October 16, 1921 in Preston, Idaho to Laron A. Bright and Armina Skidmore. She was born and raised in Southern Idaho and lived most of her adult life in the Huntsville and Hooper area.
Mother married her eternal sweetheart, S. Leon Bell, on October 2, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away October 3, 1981. She later married Worlton Wood on September 20, 1985 and enjoyed five wonderful years with him until his death on December 18, 1990.
Mother is survived by Marilyn (Dale) Nelson, West Haven; Tharon C (Holly H.) Bell, Brigham City; Kevin (Kathy) Bell, Hooper; Jim (Janie) Bell, Potomac, MT; Ruth Ann Combe (Frank Beardsley, fiance''), West Haven; and a beloved sister, Shirley Baird, Bountiful UT.
Mother''s greatest blessing was her family. Her posterity includes her children and their spouses, 31 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Mother served in various callings in the LDS Church. She was an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. Her favorite calling was teaching children the gospel. Mother had a love for the scriptures, and a strong testimony of our Savior. She was an inspiration to many and was a great example to all.
She was a member of the Hooper Hometown Players and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved music, camping and baking Chocolate Cake for family reunions.
Mother was preceded in death by our dear father, step-father, three sons: Seth, Carlos, Steven, one daughter, Karen Armina, her parents, two sisters and one brother.
The family would like to express gratitude to Mother''s caregivers in her final days including Seong Barnes, Andrea, Peach Tree Staff and Alpine Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10th at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West.
The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Mink Creek Cemetery, Preston, Idaho.
