Valoy Wright Wilson

Valoy Wright Wilson, age 87, passed away on Sunday August 17, 2025 in Davis County She was born in Roosevelt, Utah on December 13, 1937 to Wells Owen and Lois Jennie Ostrander Wright. She has lived in Duchesne, Hyrum, and Kaysville, Utah.

She attended LDS Business College.

She married James Jay Wilson on May 28, 1959 in the Logan Utah Temple.

Valoy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Young Women’s camp director, Young Women’s President, Sunday School secretary, Primary President, worked in the Library and was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah temple.

She worked for the Davis County School District as a school lunch lady.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Lemonade Ladies.

Valoy enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Autumn Glow Senior Center, painting, diamond dots, crochet, knitting, cross stitch, she was a talented seamstress, and she especially loved square dancing every Friday night with her sweetheart Jay. Her family enjoyed her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, peanut butter fingers, and pies

She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Mark) Faerber, Janet (Roger) Koyle, Diane (Gary) Meredith, Lisa (Todd) Meyers, Jeff Wilson, Becky (David) Meadows, Bill (Julie) Wilson, Ken (Autumn) Wilson, Terri Jo (Jason) Sweat, her sisters; Kay Hansen, Arlene Miller Hayes, Wilma Barnes, Vickie Wright, 25 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Valoy was preceded in death by her husband, parents and infant sister Loella.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East, Kaysville, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street, Kaysville, Utah and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to the service.

Interment will be held at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
