Traudy Wagner Delius Sanborn

January 27, 1936 — January 1, 2024

Mom was born to Franz Wagner and Teresa Huber Wagner in Munich, Germany on January 27, 1936.  She passed away on January 1, 2024.

Mom had a half-sister Charlotte (Lottie), a younger brother Franzie, whom she adored.  Lottie and Franzie have both passed away. She also has a younger sister Anneliese who lives in Munich, Germany.

She lived through WWII. Mom told stories about her home being bombed, getting evacuated out to the country and then coming back to the city and being so hungry.  Her favorite ration was chocolate.  Mom and chocolate always had a wonderful bond.

Mom married my dad Siegfried Theodore Delius on January 14, 1956.  Mom and dad emigrated from Germany to Willard, UT in 1957.

Mom and dad had two children.  Rebecca Daniela Delius and Richard Phillip Delius.

My dad passed away in 1969 and my strong momma raised my brother and I.   My brother passed away in 1983.

Mom married H Grant Johnson, who passed away in 1994.

Mom worked for Fram in the Freeport Center.  Then she and Grant bought Ogden Muffler and Speed. After selling the shop mom worked for Delta Airlines.  She loved every day working for Delta.  While at Delta Airlines in Phoenix she met Chuck.

Mom married Charles (Chuck) Gordon Sanborn December 11, 1997.  They had a wonderful life together.  Chuck passed away February 22, 2023. Mom was never the same after Chuck passed.  She missed Chuck every day.

Mom had two grandsons, of whom she was so proud.  Tyler (Gillian) and Mitchell (Chelsey), and three great grandsons Mason, Camden, and Rhett.  She loved it when they came to visit and would always spoil them with chocolate.

Mom bravely battled Parkinson’s disease with all her strength and is free of it in death. She was and still is an inspiration to all of us.

I will miss my best friend and mom more than words can express.

Thank you all for your prayers, support, and kindness.

I’d like to give special thanks to Sydney and Paige from Inspiration Hospice for their kindness and care.   Also, the nurses at Abbington Senior Living are amazing. Especially Addie, Kayla, and Mariah, who are angels on earth.
