LAYTON a€" Tomo Miya passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 after a valiant six month battle with cancer.

He was born on July 4, 1939 to Y.K. and Hiro Miya. He married Chieko (Pat) Sugihara on February 4, 1959 in Ogden, Utah.

Tomo enjoyed golf, camping, traveling and being with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife and four sons, Barry, Guy (Joyce), Kirk (Tessie) and Todd (Kimberley), 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. He also left behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
