THOMAS WILLIAM BERGNER

Thomas William Bergner passed away on June 4, 2010 in Bountiful. He was born September 1, 1942 to Charles Bergner and Bernadette Carney in Hutton, Maryland. He married Kim Sa September 21, 1970 in Vietnam.

Thomas was reared and educated in Maryland. After graduating from college, he became a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the service in 1985, he worked at Fort Douglas. Later he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Bountiful, retiring in 2004.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing sports in high school. He was a volunteer Jr. Jazz coach, and a loyal Jazz fan.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; daughters Suzanne (Mike) O''Connell, Kim (Warren) Nalley, Phuong Amuso, and Jackie Nguyen; a son Phong Nguyen; sister Mayme "Mary" Everhart and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. A visitation will be held from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
