Terrie Ellen Layton Thornley

Terrie Ellen Layton Thornley, born on December 13, 1953, in Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully at her home on May 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Terrie was the beloved daughter of Orson Ray Layton and Shirley Rae Barnum Layton.

Having graduated from Clearfield High School in 1972, Terrie embarked on a committed career at Hill Air Force Base. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her passion for her numerous hobbies and interests. Terrie had a remarkable talent for sewing, quilting, knitting, and various crafts. She enjoyed scrapbooking and found joy in activities that brought her closer to loved ones. Most importantly, she cherished every moment spent with her family and grandchildren, nurturing those relationships with love and affection.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints.

 She is survived by her husband Mark R. Thornley, Brandy (Sean) Cole, daughter, Season (Edward) Zamora daughter, seven grandkids, Jaymes R. Lawler, Kyle J. Cole, Sahara (Lee) Taylor, Zamiah (Ben) Ellis, Zander Z. Cole, Dario S. Zamora, Xavier L. Zamora, sister Lori (Jeff) Bowen.

 Preceded in death by son Dustin L Thornley, Parents Orson Ray Layton. Shirley Rae Layton, sisters Kim Trujillo, Julie Weese, brother Delray Layton and Teri Layton.

 Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Sunday June 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Terrie Ellen Layton Thornley will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Her spirit and kindness will forever be remembered in the hearts of her loved ones.
