Listen to Obituary

B. Ted Rogers, beloved father, husband, uncle, and friend, passed away early Wednesday, December 24th, 2025 following a valiant fight against cancer.

Ted was born in Ogden on June 11, 1963 to Marsha Lynne Roundy and Douglas Milton Curlee and later adopted by Norman Thompson Rogers when Ted was 8 years old. Ted spent much of his childhood growing up in Tremonton and later moved to Kaysville in the 8th grade. During his childhood, Ted spent countless hours with his cousins, riding their bikes through the neighborhoods, playing baseball and building models together. In high school, Ted enjoyed photography and showcased those skills behind the camera for the Davis High School yearbook. Ted then attended Weber State University and was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha, ultimately graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history.

Later, Ted moved to Los Angeles to pursue his love of music. Here, Ted played bass guitar in a hair metal band, playing shows in various bars all around the LA area. This passion for music went well beyond Ted’s hair metal days, a passion he instilled into his children, ensuring they always had access to musical instruments and a litany of different genres.

Ted met his soulmate and best friend, Denise, in 1995. Life took Ted and Denise in different directions for a number of years, but fate had already decided they were destined for one another and in 2001, Ted and Denise found themselves together once again. Their commitment to each other was bound by marriage on October 9th, 2008. Together, Ted and Denise had two children; Brenden (20) and Josephine (14). It cannot be overstated how Ted’s family was his entire pride and joy – Brenden and Josie were the light of Ted’s life, and Denise his guiding star – and he excelled in being a caring, loving, and present husband and father.

Ted searched for many years to find his true calling in life, when he decided to learn massage therapy. Through this path, Ted found his calling in providing medical massage therapy for special needs clients. Ted was beloved in the special needs community for his work, where his ability to lessen painful conditions was a blessing to everyone he served. Later, Ted began working at Intermountain Massage College, where he taught various modalities and eventually created a curriculum for Specialized Massage Therapy for the Special Needs Population, as well as for burn and cancer patients for the University of Utah.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; his two children, Brenden and Josie; his uncle, Ted (Deb) Roundy; his sister, Erin Moore and by his brothers, Shane Andersen, Scott Woodham, and Awwen Tyrsson. Ted was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, two uncles, his great Aunt Vera, and his cousin, Sharlene.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at McKay Dee Cancer Center and Applegate Hospice.

“Rest in Peace, my Love, until we meet again.” -DJ
