Ted R. Heywood

June 10, 1954 ~ September 12, 2022

The world lost a great man! It’s with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and friend to everyone!

Ted was born in Ogden on June 10, 1954, to Blaine “Spike” and Hannah “Ann” Heywood. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1972 and received a degree from Weber State College.

He was the owner/operator of Chic Armature for 50 years.

Ted married Deana Gibson in July 1979 and from that marriage was blessed with two  kids, Mindi and Chase. They later divorced. He met the love of his life, Janeil Martin, and they wed in Hawaii on February 14, 1997. She brought two kids into the marriage, Tiffani and Justin, which completed his family.

He was an exceptional pool player and avid golfer and would take strokes from you any day. He was very proud and honored to be invited to the governor's mansion in May 2022 to celebrate being a lifetime hunting/fishing license holder. He thoroughly enjoyed the fishing stories that were shared that night. Some of his fondest memories include going on family trips to Strawberry Reservoir in the early years, hunting on Monroe Mountain and enjoying patio time in Mesquite.

Ted is survived by his wife, Janeil; best friend, Kadi; daughter, Mindi (Kurt); son, Chase (Jana); daughter, Tiffani (Shawn); son, Justin (Amy); grandkids, Cade, Taylar, Aubree, Boston, Koy, Jerzi, Hudson, Ashlynn, Anna, Libbi, Kyson, Drew, and Jaycie; brother, Brent (Michele); sister, Trudi (Larry) and sister-in-law, Cathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Spike and Ann, in-laws Neil and Elna Braithwaite, brother Bob and his loving dog Barkley.

There will be a celebration of life at his home on Saturday, September 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
