Ted M. Ewing

Ted M. Ewing, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on January 24, 1942, to Rex and Leora Ewing in Smithfield, Utah. Ted grew up in Sunset, Utah, as the eldest of two brothers.

He graduated from Davis High School in 1960 and began his career in construction with Waterfall and W.R. White Pipe. In 1966, he began working for the Department of the Air Force, where he specialized in camera systems for submarines and airplanes. He dedicated 42 years of service before retiring on May 31, 2008.

A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ted found his greatest joy in his family. He made it a priority to attend every family event possible—birthdays, school programs, weddings, blessings, and baptisms—always going out of his way to be present. He enjoyed family activities such as barbecues, camping, and hunting, and he had a passion for tinkering with wood and metal projects.

Ted was known for his wonderful sense of humor. Two of his favorite sayings were, “Feel with my hands,” when asked how he was feeling, and “Fair to Midland,” when asked how he was doing.

He is survived by his children: Steven (Hesper), Todd (Dawn), Jason (MaryJane), and Chad; and by Rosemary, the mother of his four sons. Through his marriage to Jerilyn, his family also includes Donald S. Kilgore, Shannon N. Kilgore, Tiffanie (Klint) Hardy, and Brian J. Kilgore. He is also survived by his brother, Guy; three nieces and nephews; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerilyn; his parents, Rex and Leora; his brother, Frank; two sisters-in-law, both named Terri; and two nephews, Bryn and Tory.

We will deeply miss his warmth, kindness, gentle strength, and humor.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah 84401. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
