Syracuse

In honor of Tarel Amare Lewis's 16-year journey

Dear sweet angel of mine,

Before I met you, I was a completely different person. You came into my life & taught me so much. You truly changed me for the better which is honestly amazing, some people go their whole lives without changing a beat. Unfortunately for them, they were not able to experience the love as a parent through a special needs child. That is thee definition of what unconditional love truly is - nothing made me more happier than that. Because of your presence, I know that level of love, trust & genuine happiness. What I received from you seems somewhat unattainable because of the magnitude of emotion & energy you spread & gave to me. Anyone who met you loved you! You had those beautiful eyes, longer eyelashes than even your dad. You had a perfect smile & that infectious laugh. You taught me how important the small things are & how much they truly matter- it really is what matters most. You taught me to be non-judgmental, because you never know what someone is going through, how they were raised, their mindset, their environment & how society affected who they became. No one can truly completely understand why people are how they are, so treat them with kindness. You taught me to be happy. You made me realize how blessed I truly am & how easy I've had it. You taught me to be humble. People loved you simply for your contagious smile, infectious laugh & genuine happiness. There is never a need to be proud or boastful when your energy and actions speak louder than words, which was exactly how you expressed your love. We all should look up to you, you're thee perfect selfless example.

Love always & eternally yours,

Your Mom.
