SYRACUSE - Tanner David Birch returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on February 26, 2012. We are so thankful to our Father in Heaven for making Tanner a part of our family. Every day with Tanner was a blessing to us.

Tanner loved spending time with his family and loved being an uncle. His smile made those around him feel loved and accepted. He eagerly served others and was an example of Christ-like love to all he came in contact with.

We could always find Tanner outside in any season. He loved to play soccer and to snowboard. He considered himself a cowboy and had a special way with horses. He also participated in the Boy Scouts of America and was just his Eagle project away from being an Eagle Scout.

Tanner has a strong testimony of the restored gospel, which helped him live a very happy life through the teachings of Jesus Christ. His goodness and love radiated from his countenance. Tanner held and honored the Aaronic Priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a leader in his Deacons and Teachers quorums. Tanner also attended the LDS Seminary program, which was a blessing in his life.

We know that our Savior Jesus Christ lives. He loves each of us. Our family is so thankful for this knowledge, and we know that we will be with Tanner again. This knowledge brings comfort to our family at this difficult time. We extend our gratitude to you for your love and prayers.

Tanner is survived by his parents, David Dennis and Krista Lee Hansen Birch of Syracuse, UT; siblings Ashley Sharee Jepperson (Jeff), Ohio; Daniel David Birch, Savannah Lee Birch, Heidi Noelle Birch, Logan David Birch; and grandmother Betty D.
