Susie Rebecca (Becky) Wiggill
Susie Rebecca (Becky) Wiggill, 58, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. She was born July 28, 1953 in Iredell County North Carolina the fifth of seven children born to Thomas Glen and Virginia P. Davis. She grew up primarily in Mooresville, North Carolina and graduated from Iredell High School.
In 1972 she traveled to Syracuse, New York where she met Lynn Bishop Wiggill. They were married the following year on April 21, 1973 and enjoyed 38 years together. They made their home in Layton, Utah and later in South Weber, Utah. Together they raised two children, Heather and Matt, and later Christian.
Becky was a lifelong Christian and enjoyed attending Washington Heights Church. She was involved with the Utah Refugee Council, and served as President for the Utah Chapter of A Special Wish Foundation. She also participated in American Cancer Society Walk for Life.
She had many talents and hobbies. She was an avid reader and scrapbooker and had a special talent for sewing.
She was employed at Utah Department of Work Force Services for over 28 years where she was involved in many workplace organizations. While there she made numerous life-long friendships. Becky also treasured friendships developed as a part-time nail technician, which were considered to be therapy sessions for many of her clients.
In 2003, Becky received a wonderful gift from a good friend, Traveler Nicosia. When Becky needed a kidney transplant, Traveler offered hers, and gave Becky nine more wonderful years of life. The family would like to thank Traveler for her special gift.
Becky also shared a special bond with a small group of ladies, aka the "Ya Ya''s" who shared many adventures and celebrations. She is survived by her husband Lynn, daughter Heather (Colby) Dustin, and sons Matt and Christian; five grandchildren (Bailey, Carly, Macy, Halle, and Jacob); as well as one brother and four sisters and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
A celebration of Becky''s life will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harry and Dr. Ruth and everyone at Nephrology of Northern Utah, the nurses and staff at Bonneville Dialysis center, and Dr. Holland and his staff at Heart of Utah. We know she''s waiting for us in a happier place and that''s she''s not sick anymore.
