Susan Stettler Andrews, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 19, 2025 at the age of 70 in her childhood home in Sunset, Utah, where she lived the majority of her life. Returning to her Father in Heaven and reuniting with her baby boy, Jeremy, her parents, Harold and Ilene, and Step Father, Doyle, what a glorious reunion it must have been!
Born on March 29, 1955, in Ogden, Susan's life was one characterized by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She loved Sunset, Utah and the neighbors, ward members, coworkers and friends she made over the years.
She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1973 with Honors, as well as graduating LDS Seminary. During her teenage years she worked at Warren’s and she had many fun memories she would share from her time there. In 1975, she graduated with an Associates Degree in secretarial technology from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Susan worked at Utah Power and Light for a few years, but later built a 20 plus year rewarding career as a secretary at Sunset Junior High with the Davis County School District. Through her work, she cultivated many friendships that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her colleagues and friends will remember her not only for her professionalism, but also for her always upbeat spirit and her eagerness to lend a helping hand even amongst her physical struggles.
Family was the cornerstone of Susan's life, and she was affectionately regarded as the heart of her family. She married Brent L. Andrews on March 10th, 1978 and later was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10th 1982. She had a unique ability to connect with those around her, always striving to bring joy and support to others. Her love for her husband Brent and her six children—Kimberly, Brandon, Cameron, Heather, Melanie, and Jeremy—was boundless, creating a profound legacy for her fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The bonds she forged with them were cherished, and her memory will live on in their hearts especially around birthdays and Christmas as she always tried to make everyone feel special. She made the spirit of Christmas every year so magical.
Beyond her family and work, Susan found joy in her Diet Coke with lime, reading, puzzles, playing games like solitaire, tetris, and bingo bash, and in her younger years cooking meals for her family, which all her girls have tried to recreate over the years. She was involved in her childrens schooling with being on the PTA for years, and even PTA president for a few. She was Cub Scout leader for her church for some years, too. She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, and even coaching her boys' softball teams. Although sharing her musical talent will always be a highly fond memory for her children, as an accomplished pianist and organist she devoted many years to playing at church, contributing to the spiritual life of her 5th Ward community and uplifting congregants with her beautiful music, as well as in her home.
Susan is survived by her husband, Brent, her children; Kimberly (Travis) Simkins of Cedar City, Brandon Andrews of Clearfield, Cameron Andrews of Sunset, Heather (Michael) Bryce of Ogden, and Melanie Andrews of Sunset, her 15 grandchildren; Alayna, Alexis, Alyjah, Aislyn, Bowen, Kayla, Weston, Emma, Violet, Carolyn, Emery, Graysen, Delilah, Melodee, and Bodhi, 3 great-grandchildren Isaiah, Arlow and Ryden, and her siblings Jane (Irvin) Hansen of Syracuse, Tim (Krista) Stettler of Mesa, Arizona, Jeff (Julie) Stettler of Alpine and Mike (Maurine) Stettler of Clinton, and lots of nieces and nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her baby boy Jeremy Doyle Andrews, her parents Harold and Ilene Stettler, along with her stepfather Doyle Wharton and a nephew Joshua Stettler.
As we remember Susan, we celebrate a woman who embodied happiness and love, who was always ready to help, and who held her family together with grace and strength. Her remarkable spirit will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
