SUSAN MOORE HARRIS

1946-2016

Susan Moore Harris, age 69, died of a long series of health complications after overcoming and surpassing the expectations of many medical experts, on July 13, 2016 in Salina, Utah.

Susan was born on August 19, 1946 in Pipestone, Minnesota, to parents Donald Duane Moore Sr. and Elaine Sarris Moore. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1964.  She began working for Utah Power & Light Company at the age of 18.  She moved to Emery County Utah in 1978 and continued to work for the company for a total of 32 years in various clerical positions primarily at UP&L’s Huntington Power Plant.

She married Charles W. Harris in 1975 and later divorced. The couple had 2 daughters together, Pamela Susan Harris and Amy Dawn Harris.

Susan was committed to her daughters and family including her love and appreciation for all of her nephews and nieces and their families.  Susan has many people who appreciated her friendship and caring heart.

Susan's hobbies were to cross stitch and crochet. Susan shared her love and commitment with her dogs and cats throughout the years. She was a member of the LDS Castle Dale 2nd Ward and enjoyed serving in the Young Women’s Program while her girls were young along with other various callings.  She loved spending time with friends and keeping up on the latest movies and current events. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind hearted, loving and giving person.

Susan is survived by her daughters Pam (Chad) Downard of Salina, Utah, Amy (Zach) Fuller of Grantsville, Utah and her grandchildren: Kyler, Aubrie, Kenyon, Caleb, Aiden, Tanner, Molly and Kiercy; also a brother, Donald (Karen) Moore Jr. of Woods Cross, Utah.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank all of the medical personnel: IMC medical staff, Landmark, an LTAC  facility, Rocky Mountain, Hunter Hollow care facility, Salina Utah’s Home and Hospice team and to those special staff members who have dedicated their careers and took the time to give Susan and her family the most love and kindness possible.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Susan’s life.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E.
