CLEARFIELD a€" Stephen Argyle Smith, 76, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born November 11, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Victor Rudger and Donna Argyle Smith.

Stephen married Maurine Howarth Parker on April 29, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He served in the baptistry of the Ogden LDS Temple and as a service missionary and volunteer at the Ogden LDS Cannery for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife Maurine, Clearfield; sons, Scott (Cindi) Smith, South Jordan; Kent (Diane) Smith, Clearfield; Greg (Andrea) Smith, Mendon; Brian (Joan) Smith, Livermore, CA; daughters, Donnette (Doug) Richards, Cedar Park, TX; Noelle (Bryan) Poe, Kaysville; Amber Dawn Smith (James Craig), Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brother, Craig (Kathy) Smith, Farmington; sisters, Francine Larsen, Sunset; Pam Wilson, Clinton; Vicki Simpson, West Point; and Marisa (John) Smeding, Layton.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Clearfield North Stake Center, 151 N. 1000 W. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
