Our beloved mother, sister, aunty, teacher and friend passed away Friday at the age of 82.

She was born to goodly parents Jorgen N. and Daisy H. Larsen Petersen on June 25, 1929 in Nevada, Iowa, the second of five children. She was a happy child, who grew up to be a happy, lovely lady that touched many lives with her unselfish and thoughtful service. She was a wonderful teacher by profession, and taught for 30 years in Iowa and Utah. Her family was the center of her life. She loved her four children and extended family with all her heart.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1959, and lived the gospel to the best of her abilities all the days of her life. At the age of 72, she was called as a proselyting missionary for 18 months to North Carolina, fulfilling a lifelong desire to be a missionary for Jesus Christ. She was the greatest example to all who knew her of a truly righteous, obedient, valiant woman who endured well to the end.

Survived by her children, Paul (Brynn), Joanna (Kieron), and Michael (Laura); nine grandchildren, Randy, Kelly, Brady, Breanna, Hailey, Danielle, Trenton, Bridget and Elizabeth; brother Howard Petersen and sister Phyllis Kosky. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bobbi and Lloyd and her son Jack.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake, 1800 E. Mueller Park Rd. where friends may visit from 9:45- 10:45 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
