Shirley Blair

In fond memory of our mother who’s sacrifice has left behind a large posterity who have learned the importance of hard work and determination.  Shirley passed away in her home on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

Shirley was born March 5, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Robert Parley and Violet Checketts.

Shirley married Lamoine Freeze.  They were later divorced.  She married Charles R. Blair on February 4, 2000 in Roy, Utah.  Charlie lovingly cared for her for 18 years.

She loved sewing, crafts, flowers and especially her dogs.

Surviving are her children: Patricia Swenson, Joan Gallegos, Brent (Jorgi) Freeze, Brenda (Dave) Farrell, Henry Neidig, four step-children, sister Rita Painter, brother Robert (Betty) Checketts, brother-in-law, Gene Atwell, 17 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles R. Blair, daughter, Roberta (Bill) Kerivan, step-daughter, Diane Phillip, step-son, Donald Blair, one step-grandson, one step-great-grandson, sister, Jewel Atwell and brother-in-law, Clarence Painter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary,  Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
