OGDEN–Shirlee Burnett Larsen passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She was 94 years old. She has returned with much joy and anticipation to be with her sweetheart, “Ted” Neils J. Larsen who preceded her in death by 26 years. They were married 47 years and sealed in the Logan Temple in 1963. They were true lovers and set a great example of a happy marriage for their children.
Shirlee was a worker and always had a paying job from age 14 until she started her family in 1953. She worked for 10 years at Mountain Bell Telephone Company then later after he children were older, she worked for 16 years at Weber School District as a tutor and teachers aide.
Shirlee was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Stake Relief Society. She also faithfully served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for 14 years and attended the temple weekly thereafter.
She did volunteer work at the Bertha Eccles Art Center for five years and also served for five years with the Weber State Alumni Association.
Some of her favorite times included camping trips with her family, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, swimming, and spending time on trips to Sun Valley, ID with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to many countries and went on a number of cruises with family and friends.
Shirlee is survived by her four children, Nan (Gary) Christensen, Cory (Becky), Scott (Alisa), and Lisa (Matt) Fairbanks. She has 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
