Sharron Jettie Reese passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at age 78. She was born on January 15, 1947, in Utah County.
Brilliant, kind, and endlessly capable, Sharron lived a life full of curiosity, generosity, and laughter. She was known for her intelligence and humor, and she loved a good prank almost as much as she loved a good book. Sharron worked for many years at McKay Dee Hospital, where her dedication, compassion, and humor brightened many lives.
She carried a lifelong love for animals, travel, and the satisfaction of creating with her own hands. Never one to shy away from hard work, she could build, fix, or craft anything she set her mind to. A teacher in spirit, she inspired others to explore the world with curiosity, compassion, and courage. Her creativity wove its way through every part of her life - into handmade Halloween costumes, community theater performances, the homes she lovingly built and shaped, and the music that flowed from her heart and voice.
Sharron spent a significant amount of her life caring for and rehabilitating animals in need and supporting charities like Best Friends Animal Society. She often dreamed of retreating to a cabin deep in the Alaskan wilderness, living as a gentle “hermit veterinarian” among the wild things she adored. It was a vision that spoke to her soul - peaceful, purposeful, and close to the natural world that always felt like home. She also donated to orphanages overseas, impacting many lives.
Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Jettie Jessie Shepherd and Ivan Tildon Anderson; her brother, Rodger Ivan Anderson; and her husband, Gary Arthur Reese.
She is survived by her children, Stuart L Smith (Crystal), Heather V Barber, and Dustin G Smith (Cassandra), Kathryn Brace; her grandchildren, Zoie, Gillian, Wynter and Analise; and her great-grandchild, Felix. Sharron is also survived by her beloved cat, Dustin.
Sharron’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her kindness, wit, and spark of mischief will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
