Sharon Lee Steed Hale, 83, passed away on January 28, 2026, in West Haven, Utah, surrounded by close family members. She was born on November 14, 1942, in Tremonton, Utah, to Don and Lela Mae Steed.

Sharon spent most of her childhood in Plymouth, Utah. She attended Plymouth Elementary School, a two-room schoolhouse, and later attended high school in Tremonton and Ogden. After graduating, she attended beauty school andcompleted her training.

Sharon was the oldest of five siblings. She was followed 18 months later by her brother Randy Steed. Her brother Ronnie Steed was born when Sharon was seven years old, and her brother Bruce Steed was born when she was thirteen. Her youngest brother, Shawn Pella, was born later.

Sharon married Herbert Leon Sartin early in her life; he preceded her in death. On July 16, 1965, she married John Thomas Hale in Ogden, Utah. They shared 46 years of marriage before John Thomas Hale’s passing on May 28, 2012.

Throughout her life, Sharon lived in several places. After growing up in Plymouth, she moved to Ogden, Utah, spent a year in Amarillo, Texas, and returned to Ogden in 1954. She also lived in Salt Lake City, Magna, and San Francisco, California. In her final years, Sharon resided in Roy, Utah, with her niece Randin Steed and Randin’s children, Dezirae, Paul, Faye, and Melo. Randin devoted countless hours to Sharon’s care, and Sharon was always there to help whenever she was able.

Sharon loved reading and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion and enjoyed camping trips with family and fellow Eagles members. She loved traveling to Yuma and Mexico with Donna and Randy and other family members. Sharon was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan and loved San Francisco. Known for her fierce spirit and quick wit, she could always make people laugh and especially loved having children around to tend. She was also a skilled pool player and dart thrower.

She worked for a short time at Sierra Lingerie in Ogden and later spent many years assembling computer boards while living in Magna.

Sharon is survived by her children, Tony (Jennifer) Hale and Amber (Orlando) Stone-Vigil; her grandchildren, Terren Hale, Mariah (Josh) Hale, Autumn Hale, Zachary (Joe) Stone, Sheldon (Jerica) Stone, Michael (Elisa) Stone, Justin (Cassidy) Anderson, Dakota (Conner) Stone, Josh (Bailee) Stone, and Hunter Stone; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces and 7 nephews; and her brothers, Randy (Donna) Steed, Bruce Steed, and Shawn (Maria) Pella. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sue Steed.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Leon Sartin; her husband, John Thomas Hale; her father, Don Steed; her mother, Lela Wright; her brother, Ronnie Steed; and her sister-in-law, Emilia Steed.

Sharon will be cremated and buried next to her husband, Tom, on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

Sharon will be missed by all who knew her, and her laughter and great stories will be carried on for generations.
