She attended Roy Elementary and Riverdale and Wahlquist Middle Schools. She graduated from Weber High School and attended Brigham Young University.
She was married to Walter F. McBurnie (deceased) from 1953 to 1969. She worked for the Forest Service for several years before starting at Hill Air Force Base where she qualified for training as an Industrial Engineering Technician. She also spent 13 years as a Reading Aid at Dee Elementary School.
Sharon also fulfilled many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including serving as Relief Society Second Counselor, President, and Stake Relief Society President in Ohio and, at the age of 89, as Relief Society President in the Harrison Regent Branch, Ogden Utah. She also loved doing temple work and family history.
She was a generous and loving mother and a doting grandmother. In her retirement years her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy and she was very grateful for the support and companionship of her siblings and close friends.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Clark) Ulrich and Mary Ann McBurnie (Peter Harrison); her grandchildren, Austin (Heidi) Ulrich, Abby (Matt) Rich, Ivy (Landon) Bickley, Quinn (Katie) Ulrich and Tessa (Sage) Thornock; as well as nine great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Adrain Reed (Bobbie), Lowell Bruce, Michael Gordon (Barbara) and Douglas Allen (Carolyn) Gibby.
