Shane Kirt Walton

Shane Kirt Walton passed away January 22, 2026 at his home in Layton, Utah at the age of 56.

He was born on August 14, 1969 in Bountiful, Utah to Mark Lynn and Iris Kaye Blackner Walton.

He lived in Layton most of his life and he lived in Virginia for a short time. He graduated from Layton High School.

He raised his boys as a single father for many years.

On September 25, 2010, Shane remarried Kimberly Rasmussen in Layton, Utah. She preceded him in death in December of 2024.

Shane worked for Geneva Rock for over 30 years as a cement truck driver. He took pride in his work and was recognized for maintaining an excellent safety record.

Shane had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He liked Legos, his animals, Star Wars, and camping with family and friends riding his razor and motorcycles. He also loved playing pranks, including once dressing up as Bigfoot to scare his family during a hike, a moment that will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his parents, Mark Lynn and Iris Walton; his children, Samantha, Byron, and Kameron; his siblings, Cory, Debbie, Trisha, Kevin, and Kyra; his grandchildren, Annabell, Rylie, and Sheldon; also his beloved dog Wookie, and many nieces and nephews who loved him and whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly “Kim” Walton.

Shane was loved by his family, and he loved them dearly in return.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday February 2, 2026 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 3225 N. 2400 E., Layton, Utah.
