Listen to Obituary

Selena Ann Bell of Roy, Utah passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Selena was born October 04, 1961, to parents Donald and Virginia Tapp in Ogden, Utah. The second of six children and the only girl, Selena, was strong, caring, and always held a motherly demeanor.

Selena was married twice, the first of which gave her, her greatest gift- a baby girl. Selena married her second husband Normand Bell on May 23, 1992, in their home in Layton. They shared 33 wonderful years of marriage together.

Selena had many hobbies and interests that were everchanging over the years. She was an incredibly talented ceramic artist, she painted many beautiful pieces. In her later years she loved anything to do with food, trying new foods, watching cooking shows, making delicious meals for her family. She loved hanging out with her family and finding new exciting things to do with her granddaughter. The family always had animals and in the end Selena loved watching her chickens and feeding them cottage cheese. Every morning Selena could be found playing candy crush and drinking her coffee, she called it her “me time” and she was in a very bad mood if that time was ever interrupted for any reason.

Selena held several jobs over the years including Desarose, Fram, and Job Corps. Selena made very dear friends in every career she worked at. She became a certified phlebotomist but chose not to pursue the career after realizing she had to poke babies and she couldn’t bring herself to hurt a child even if it was their own good. The one position that Selena was the most proud to hold was stay at home mom/grandma. She enjoyed being at home and taking care of her family. She became a second mom to her granddaughter and that was not a role she took lightly, she was so completely dedicated to being a safe place and a feeling of home to that little girl.

Selena is survived by her loving husband Normand Bell, only daughter Emily (Alex) Garcia, 2 brothers Tracy (Yuvonka) Tapp and Richard Tapp. As well as her greatest gift, her granddaughter Alyna Garcia.

Selena was preceded in death by both of her parents Don and Virginia Tapp and three of her brothers, Mark, Jason, and Jeremy Tapp.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff in the Ogden Regional Hospital ICU for all of their compassion and professionalism in caring for Selena in her final days.

The family would like to invite all who knew Selena to attend a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday December 06, 2025, from 6-8 PM at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary located at 1867 N Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah.
