KAYSVILLE a€" Scott Marshall Hansen, 74, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Rocky Mountain Hospice Center in Layton following a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Billie (Elsner) Hansen; his son Perry (Michele) Hansen; daughter Julie Hansen; brother LeRoy (Sharon); three grandchildren and many close friends.

Born and raised in McGill, Nevada, the son of Scott Marshall and Florence Hansen; he spent his youth with his brother in the Ely, NV area.

After graduating from White Pines High School in 1956, he served in the U.S. Army and attended Texas Western University where he graduated with a Bachelor''s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He then met his wife Billie and they were married in 1962. They had two children. Scott''s career as an electrical engineer took the family from Hill AFB in Utah, to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, and back to Hill AFB. He not only took pride in his work on Air Force F-111 and F-16 jets, but he truly relished the friends he made during this time.

In 1981 Scott changed career paths and with his business partners Mike Pexton and Gary Ellingford, started a successful land development company. He and Billie also opened a successful Laundromat.

A lifelong hunter and fisherman, Scott had a passion for animals. He and Billie opened their home to many stray cats and dogs.

His proudest achievement was becoming grandpa to three beautiful grandchildren, Veronika, Lauren and Drew. Holidays and birthdays were spent at Grandpa and Grandma''s home, filled with laughter and love.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11 am. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
