Saundra Flint Child

April 19, 1943 — February 9, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Saundra Flint Child, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on April 19, 1943, to Glen Webster Flint and Lois Holt Flint. Saundra lived in West Point, Utah, her entire life.

She attended West Point Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and Davis High School, graduating in 1960. She later attended Weber State College and Brigham Young University.

Saundra met the love of her life, Noall “Jimmy” Child, while she was a senior in high school. They were married on September 18, 1964, in the Salt Lake Temple. Saundra worked at Hill Air Force Base and the IRS, eventually retiring from Hill Air Force Base in January 2001. One of the best parts of her working years was the many great friends she made along the way. She had a remarkable memory for people and always remembered special events in their lives.

Saundra was truly a people person and loved to talk. She had many friends and was always serving others—making dinners, sending cards, and creating countless cross-stitch pieces, baby blankets, and wall hangings. Her family has been blessed to receive many of these handmade treasures. She was also an avid reader who never passed up a good book. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed perusing Facebook—especially the West Point Rocks page—where she loved staying informed about the happenings in her hometown.

Saundra was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings, including Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary, where she served as a counselor, secretary, and teacher.

She is survived by her loving husband, Noall “Jimmy” Child of West Point; her children, Curtis (Alyson) Child of Hooper, Lisa (Terry) Ralphs of West Point, and Jason (Joni) Child of Roy; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren, with one more expected in July. She is also survived by her siblings, Jeff (Patty) Flint, Vickie Newton, Maureen (Bruce) Chandler, and Steven Flint. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Flint.

Saundra will be sorely missed by her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma, and we will miss her conversations dearly.

The family extends special thanks to her granddaughter, Shayla, for the countless years of love and service she provided. We also thank the many caregivers who took such wonderful care of our mother, especially those at Thatcher Brook Rehabilitation Center and Quality Home Health and Hospice Team. We love you.
