Sara E. Jones Bramhall
LAYTON a" Sara E. Bramhall, 86, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer disease. She was born July 23, 1925 in Shamokin, PA to Paul and Ruth Jones. Sara graduated from Shamokin High School in 1943. On July 19, 1947, she married Robert L. Bramhall. Following their marriage, they lived in CT for a short time. Their next move was to Shamokin to be near family and then on to Middletown, PA for employment. Upon the closure of Olmsted, A.F.B. in 1965, the family relocated to Layton, UT.
Family and home were the center of Sara''s life. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, and homemaking. Some of her favorite social activities were bridge club, bowling, square dancing, Red Hatters, cross country skiing, and boating. She served as a volunteer at Clearfield Heritage Center for many years.
As a dedicated member of Clearfield Community Church, she served in numerous capacities. Some of her positions were wedding coordinator, flower chairperson, and serving on many worship committees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and two brothers, Donald and Paul Jones. She is survived by three children: Rob (Julie) Bramhall, Tim (Mary Ann) Bramhall, and Susan (Jerry) Tobey; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Mick Behrent.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Clearfield Community Church, 200 South 500 East, Clearfield. Following the service family will greet friends at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
A special thank you to the staff of Legacy Village of Layton and Aspire Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to Clearfield Community Church.
