Born on September 16, 1935 in Bountiful Utah and passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the age of 90, Sandra Gayle Hepworth Webster (Sandy) returned home to the loving embrace of her soulmate, her grandson, her parents, brother and other loved ones. She was married to her eternal companion in 1951 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, taking their four young children with them.
She was a child when she began motherhood with twins, but she did not let that stop her from embracing it with great passion and loving commitment. As children, we were always the best-dressed and well-groomed kids in the neighborhood accomplished by her long hours at night sitting at her sewing machine. She was a master seamstress. Her finished work was always as impeccable on the reverse as it was for the world to see.
She was an incredible cook taught by the best - her mom and mother-in-law. Her meals were always delicious, and no one could make pies, cookies, eclairs or other desserts like her, She spent every fall canning up a storm bottling peaches, apricots, pears, applesauce, cherries, chili sauce, tomatoes and pickles for the coming year.
She loved Christmas and found great joy in the sometimes-tedious hours of making the best caramels, turtles, pecan rolls, English toffee, peanut brittle, fudge and divinity. Her pies were to die for, but so was her roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy.
We always had great meals and a spotless house awaiting us growing up and whenever we came home as adults with our own families.
She adored all her grand-kids, great-grandkids and, of late, her first great-great grand-daughter.
She was beautiful, talented, frugal, loving and full of life. No one could work harder than her. And true to form, she could be counted on to give all things nothing short of excellence. She was a fashion model, a Director of Fashion at a small boutique department store, a loan officer, a factory rep for a top women’s line of clothing, and a Travel Consultant leading tours around the world with her soulmate as her constant companion. People loved to travel with them. They were a handsome power couple who made traveling with them a fun and classy adventure.
With dad by her side, she embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ and never looked back. She served in her ward - especially loving her time working with the young women. She was a temple worker and served two missions with her favorite Elder in New Zealand as Public Relations Missionaries and East Africa headquartered in Kenya as Employment Specialists.
She loved skiing, hiking, golfing, cycling, running and crocheting up a storm creating beautiful Afghans for those she loved.
She was the loving mother of 4 children and their spouses, 18 grandchildren, 37 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Sandy was a remarkable lady, hard-working and dedicated to her family. She is adored by them all and will be greatly missed. We love you Mom, Nanny, great Nanny and great-great Nanny!!!
She is preceded in death by her husband Maurice Webster, her brother and one grandchild.
The family wants to thank Auberge Memory Community and their Hospice team for the loving care they gave mom during the last two months of her life.
