Sammie Wood
1917 -2012
Sammie Wilson Wood, 94, died peacefully Monday, March 5, 2012. She was born on December 20, 1917 in Cedar City, Utah to Sam and Allie Wilson. She married Garner Dalton Wood on January 10, 1942, in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
Sammie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Gar served a couples mission in 1946 to the Hawaiian Islands. She also served in numerous other positions, including Relief Society President. She supported Gar in his many callings, including bishop and first president of the Kauai Hawaii Stake. She loved teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by all.
Survived by four sons: Kimo (Janet) of Clinton; Steven (Karen) of Centerville; Mitchell of Ogden; Lindsay of Livermore, CA; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Wright of Hurricane; brother, Jerrold (Claudia) Wilson of Florence, AZ. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael; sister, Afton Gibson; parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Centerville South Stake, 270 N. 300 E. where friends may visit from 1-1:45 pm prior to services. Interment Centerville City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
