Sally Isabelle Hendrickson

April 24, 2008 — July 6, 2024

Sally Isabelle Hendrickson was born on April 24, 2008 in Ogden, Utah to her parents Richard David Hendrickson and Julie Nilson Hendrickson and her 3 older siblings, Samuel, Lyssa and Mollie. She finished her earthly journey at the tender age of 16 in a tragic accident in Ogden Canyon, alongside her Dad on July 6, 2024. Sally was a bright and spirited young woman. Her far too short life was filled with joy, laughter, and an infectious enthusiasm that touched everyone around her. She was genuinely kind and beautiful in every way. Her nicknames around the house were “sweet Sal” and “my gal Sal”.

As a child, Sally had a fondness for anything mini and always had pockets or purses filled with tiny treasures. She loved rainbows, unicorns, mermaids, stuffed animals, sunshine, and butterflies. She was a true ladybug enthusiast and an expert fly catcher. She enjoyed being outside where she would create magical fairy gardens, spend time with her dog Bear and tend to her chickens.

Sam, Lyssa and Mollie were her best friends and examples. She loved sibling time, or as they called it “SLMS”. Sally adored her older brother and sisters who treated her with such love and tenderness. She knew that she was loved and cherished beyond measure. Sally looked up to them and loved following in their footsteps. She eagerly awaited her 16th birthday and was overjoyed at the day she got the keys to “Biscuit”, her sisters passed-down car.

She had a special relationship with her parents. She referred to her Dad with the nickname Mufasa, and he to her as Zazu. Sally enjoyed midnight ice cream runs with her Dad and spending time with him when he was doing his many projects. Her relationship with her mom was equally as special. Sally was her Mom’s shadow. From her childhood to this day she would tell her Mom and Dad, “I love you 2,105 cents.” They enjoyed playing games, laughing and joking and talking about life. They did everything together and talked about everything. She loved and adored her parents. She loved following them around and her parents loved her nonstop talking and enjoyed simply being in her presence. Often Sally could be found staying up late with Mom and Dad doing fun activities or just hanging out.

Family was important to Sally. She loved traveling with extended family on the annual trips to Hawaii, Mexico and Lake Powell. She loved her grandparents and enjoyed special one on one time with them. Her cousins were some of her best friends and they all looked forward to cousin time.

Friends and the people she associated with were very important to her. One of her many gifts was her ability to make friends quickly, and she cherished these connections deeply.

She was blessed to be surrounded with wonderful friends

She loved to play pickleball, hang out and go driving with friends.

Snow skiing, wake surfing, and water skiing with her family were some of Sally’s most cherished activities. She loved dancing and was skilled in ballet, tap, and jazz, often creating new dances with her friends. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to cook. A lover of Mac and Cheese and ramen noodles and was an expert at making it. Her friends loved it because she was so good at it. Sally’s love for music spanned all genres. She was known for her sun-kissed skin, and her long, luscious, thick, natural curly hair. She also loved painting nails and using her creativity to paint cute designs.

Sally’s sharp sense of humor made her the comedian of any group.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Sally excelled in the classroom. She was a 4.0 student that was loved by her teachers and coaches. She served as the Young Women’s 1st Counselor in the Senior Young Women's class of the Uintah 1st Ward for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Her spiritual life was paramount. Sally’s love for the Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in her life. She was very obedient, and frequently bore her testimony of Jesus Christ with those around her. She loved reading her Book of Mormon and knew her scriptures well. She loved to study Come Follow Me and was planning on serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints like her siblings. Since a young age she has recognized spiritual things, or as she called them “important things.” She cherished attending seminary, and consistently sharing spiritual insights that influenced the people in her life. Her favorite quote, “Life isn’t fair, and nobody’s perfect,” embodied her outlook on life and attracted friends from all walks of life.

Sally was a proud member of the South Ogden Junior High volleyball and basketball teams as well as a class officer in 8th and 9th grade. She also played on the Bonneville High School Tennis team for two years. Sally served as the Sophomore Class President and was looking forward to her junior year as the Junior Class President at Bonneville High School. Sally was a social butterfly who loved getting to know new people.

Sally Isabelle Hendrickson’s vibrant spirit and gracious heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though her time with us was brief, her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Live like Sally, Laugh like Sally, and Love like Sally.
