Sally Jean Medina Aponte

Sally Jean Medina Aponte, 69, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. She was born on September 21, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Angela Gonzales. She grew up in Ogden and was raised Catholic. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by loved ones.

 

Sally enjoyed working as a children’s librarian for the Utah State School for the Deaf and Blind for over 25 years and the Weber County Library for 15 years. She loved her job and the kids she interacted with. She enjoyed fashion, dancing, reading, listening to music, watching novellas, and singing. She wasn’t a great cook, but she enjoyed sweets and baking. She loved her many friends and large family.

 

Sally is survived by her children Angel (JD Howard), Luis Aponte (Kristin Musick), Ashlee Delgado; granddaughters Alicia Aponte and Gabby Delgado; siblings Anna Delgado, Richard (Janice) Delgado, Lisa Delgado, Del Payan (Tom Farnes), Marshall Eddy (Susan) Delgado, Shawn Delgado, and Kim Delgado. She was preceded in death by her mother Angela Gonzales, and her brother Restituto “Papo” Delgado.

 

Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center at Lindquist’s Office Building, 3434 Washington Blvd.
