Rylee James Bott

July 4, 2001 — April 14, 2022

Kansas City

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, Rylee James Bott on April 14, 2022, at the age of 20.

Rylee was born on July 4, 2001, in Layton Utah; son of Jacob Bott and Tracey (Carroll) Bott.

Rylee lived in Sunset and Clearfield Utah most of his life. He attended Sunset Elementary, Sunset Jr. High, and Northridge High School. Rylee enjoyed taking long drives in his car, playing video games, camping, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. Rylee was also very creative and enjoyed writing and singing rap songs and aspired to create an album and record label.

At the age of 18, Rylee courageously decided to join the United States Army as a military policeman. After graduating from training, he spent his first year in South Korea and returned to the United States for his post in Leavenworth Kansas where he became a Specialist. He was dedicated to finishing his time in service and excited to continue into a hands-on student training program. He had plans to come home to Utah and continue his journey surrounded by his family and friends whom he loved.

Although Rylee could be quiet and shy, he was very passionate about being good to people, being the friend that would listen, that would not judge, and you could count on to be there for you when you had no one. He was so smart, witty, strong, courageous, determined, ambitious, funny, caring and patient. He was a beautiful human being with an enormous heart that will be dearly missed and forever loved. We were so excited to have this journey with you and looking forward to our future together. Our lives will not be the same without you. We love you beyond words, forever and always.

Rylee is survived by his parents, his stepfather, Jeremy, his sister, Kaitlyn, his stepbrother, Trey, his paternal grandparents, Annie and William, his maternal grandfather, Richard, his stepfamily and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jessica.
