Listen to Obituary

Ryan Kent Henderson, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on September 19, 2025 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born in Ogden, Utah on October 25, 1970 to Kent and Ruth Ann Henderson of West Point.

He was a graduate of Clearfield High School and attended Weber State University. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He became a “Missionary Dad” as four of his six children (so far) have followed in his path and served missions in Brazil, Australia, Arkansas, and Peru. He left a strong testimony of the Lord’s work in hopes his other two children will have the missionary experience.

Ryan loved the Savior and was a fierce defender of his faith. He was never afraid to speak his mind about the Gospel. He was a member of the Harrisville 9th Ward. He served as Elders Quorum President and Young Mens President. He loved working with the youth teaching Sunday School. He was a true American who loved our country. When he saw wrongs, he spoke up about them. He always believed in miracles.

He met his love, Angela Sims, on a blind date while they were attending Weber State. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 6, 1993 and they began their story.

Ryan and Angie built a life raising their six children, Garrett Ryan (McKaylee) Henderson, Olivia Kate (Brennon) Barney, Sadie Noelle (Quinn) Bennett, Adeline Grace (Preston) Larson, Daisy Jo Henderson and Jett Bradley Henderson. They all loved and honored him. They brought so much joy to his life. He has been blessed with five grandchildren, Chloe, Ryder, Molly, Lou and Benjamin who absolutely loved him. They were his greatest achievement and he was happiest when he was with them.

He was a member of a large family who loved him, and family parties found everyone gathered around listening to his stories. Quick-witted and generous, he loved to treat people to dinner out and made sure they had a good time and plenty to eat. He brought lots of laughter to the family celebrations along with plenty of good food he had grilled himself.

He made many friends in his travels, from home to North Dakota, to Texas and in between, as he built his business Lewis Peak Construction. He loved baseball, especially and always the Dodgers. He loved the Utes, Notre Dame, the Tar Heels, and the Raiders. He was an avid golfer and won many tournaments. He loved pheasant hunting with his family and bear hunting with his sons. He was a big Fremont fan and always supported his kids. His favorite thing was watching them participate in their activities including baseball, football, cheer, golf, basketball and dance. He was so proud of them all.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Angie, of 32 years; his children and grandchildren; his parents; his sisters, Alicia (Bryce) Christensen and Andrea (Trent) Fessler; his in-laws, Bradley and Marilyn Sims and their children, Amanda (Jamie) Minnoch, Katie (Adam) Doxey, Megan (Jeremey) Splattstoesser, Aimee Sims and Jared (Amber) Sims; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Benjamin Sims and his grandparents, Luther and Ivean Baldwin and Richard and Faye Henderson.
