Ryan Scott Bateman

December 18, 1979 — June 3, 2025

Ryan Scott Bateman, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away very unexpectedly at his home on June 3, 2025.

Ryan was born December 18, 1979 at Hill Air Force Base Hospital to Larry Douglas and Sherrie Winegar Bateman. He was the middle of seven children.

Ryan grew up in Layton and graduated from Layton High School. Shortly after graduation he got a job at Fresh Market. Ryan made friends easily and was well liked by all of his co-workers as well as the customers.

One of his co-workers introduced him to Kimberly Noble and a few months later they were married. They were blessed with four children, Austin, Colby, Madison, and Logan. They were later divorced.

He later met and married Kellie Turpin, he then became a stepfather to Kellie’s daughter Madalynn. They were blessed with their youngest son, Hunter.

Ryan absolutely loved camping and spending time in nature with his family. He loved to be in the mountains, hunting, and also loved to fish.

Ryan was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ryan was famous for his legendary grilled cooking, especially his BBQ bratwurst. His house was always a hit on Halloween as they served hot dogs to the whole neighborhood.

Ryan is survived by his wife Kellie, his children; Austin, Colby, Madalynn, Madison, Logan, and Hunter. Five of his siblings; Barbara Ann Ricker (Randy), Larry “Brett” (Sammie), Travis Michael (Amanda), Brandon Tyler (Carly), Debra Lynn Schwemmer, his mother Sherrie, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
