Ruth Eileen Jones

Ruth Eileen Jones passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the age of 88 of cancer. She was a resident of the Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton.

She was born May 13, 1923 in Salt Lake City and was married to George Jones on August 25, 1942 (1942-2000).

She is survived by her only son: Gary L. Jones of Denver, Colorado, two grandchildren: Scott Jones and Marci McKoane and one great-grandchild: Jack McKoane.

She spent the majority of her life living in Layton. Ruth and George were involved in several businesses including Marci J''s clothing store where people came not only to buy clothes, but to enjoy the company and humor of both George and Ruth. She was also an avid knitter and was producing pieces right up to the end of her life. Her real passion was sports. She loved to watch every sport from tennis to basket ball. She never missed a Utah Jazz game on T.V.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
