R. Dale Brown
1939-2012
Rulon Dale Brown, 72, passed peacefully away with his wife and family members at his side at the Intermountain Medical Center (IMC), Murray, Utah, of cancer and a brain aneurysm on January 14, 2012.
Dale was born September 14, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to Ralph Clyde and Inez Lucille Kencht Brown. He was the fifth of six children. Dale grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Northside High School.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in the California Mission. Dale especially enjoyed working with the scouting program. On April 30, 1971, Dale married his best friend, Joyce Ann Ray, in Ogden, Utah.
A licensed locksmith and the owner of Dale''s Lock & Key. Dale was an honest, hard worker, and took pride in his profession. He will long be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Random acts of kindness and service to others are the best words to describe Dale''s life.
Dale was proud of and grateful for his family posterity and he loved his Georgia roots. He was a Georgia Peach as sweet as they come.
Dale is survived by his sweetheart, Joyce, of 40 years, and siblings: Ralph C. (Joyce) Brown, Jr., Diane B. Stewart, Ronald K. (Lynda) Brown, Raymond W. Brown, sisters-in-law JoAnn Chugg, Diane Wright (Robert) Brown, Darlene V. Ray, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert J. Brown, brother-in-law, Clair R. Stewart, sister-in-law Marilyn Ray Atkinson and brother-in-law, Elvin Atkinson.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at IMC Emergency Room for their excellent service, kindness and compassion to Dale. Many thanks to Dr. Todd and staff at the Jordan Valley Family Clinic for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
