Our beloved mother and grandmother, Ruby Lorraine Maxwell Pendleton passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2012. She was 88 years old.
Ruby was born August 1, 1923 in Park City, Utah to Irvin Leslie and Ivy Marchant Maxwell. Her mother died when she was seven years old. Later her father remarried Luella Burt Maxwell who loved and cared for Ruby and her siblings. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City.
She married Marquis F. Pendleton on August 7, 1942 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. They were married for 64 years on earth and will be for the rest of eternity.
She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. She served as a Relief Society President, Stake Young Women''s President and many other callings in both her ward and stake. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple and she served a mission with her husband in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was chosen as part of the Royalty for the Ogden Pioneer Days in 2007.
Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, reading and homemaking. She retired after 12 years at Defense Depot Ogden. Mom and Dad loved vacationing in the mountains and spending time with family.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Max (Tracy) Pendleton, Roy; Kelly (Michele) Pendleton, Woodridge, IL; two daughters, Judy (Keith) Price, Layton; Claudia Thompson, Ogden, and daughter-in-law Mel Pendleton, Layton. She is also survived by one brother, Burt (Marian) Maxwell, Alhambra, CA; brother-in-law, A. Dale Pendleton, Ogden. She left a great posterity of 6 children, 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, one daughter, Faye and one son Michael.
The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Village Assisted Living for the last year of Mom''s life. She had many dear friends that loved and cared for her there. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1p.m. at the Washington Terrace 4th Ward Chapel, 4760 S. 200 E. Washington Terrace. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
