Roy Albert Brayton, a man whose life was a testament to dedication, versatility, and love for family, passed away on May 7, 2026. Born on March 5, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Roy's journey through life was marked by service, hard work, and the cherished memories he created with those around him.

Early in life, Roy lived in Coalville, and after completing his military service—where he honorably served three tours in Vietnam—he made Colorado his home for many years. In 2019, on Labor Day weekend, Roy moved to Roy, Utah, and later settled in Clinton, where he built a home filled with love for his family.

Roy was a man of many trades, working at the Gypsum Mill, Pep Boys, and numerous other establishments over the years. Known for his hands-on skills and adaptability, he earned the title “jack of all trades.” His educational pursuits reflected his interests and commitment, having graduated from Fort Dodge High School and subsequently from Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) in Fort Dodge, where he obtained an associate degree in Automotive technology.

A sports enthusiast and artist at heart, Roy loved baseball and spent many happy days playing softball in his youth. His passion for drawing was a treasured pastime, reflecting a creative spirit alongside his practical skills. Above all, Roy cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying their company and creating lasting bonds.

He is survived by his loving daughter Kim (Shane) Harding, his sister Darlene (Gail) Holst, as well as eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy of warmth and dedication. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Georgianna Brayton, his brother Marvin Brayton, and sisters Helen Cookman and Karen Koenig.
