Rose Marie Weaver Ulibarri

October 22, 1930 — February 23, 2024

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.   Revelation 21:4

Rose Marie Weaver Ulibarri passed away on Friday February 23, 2024.  She was born October 22, 1930, in Denison, Texas and was the eldest child of Carl and Ardena Weaver (Allen).

In 1954, Rose Marie “Rea” met her future husband Richard while he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. A ride on a Ferris wheel and a sweet conversation on her parents’ front porch swing sealed the deal. They were married after three months of courting on September 11, 1954. They eventually settled in Richard’s hometown of Ogden, Utah. They proudly celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing in November 2020.

Family was very important to Rose. She is survived by her son, Rich Ulibarri; her daughter, Sharon Buchanan (Brady); and her adopted daughter, Ann Millner; four grandchildren who she loved unconditionally, Kaden Ulibarri, Rhett Kelton, Brenna Ulibarri and Brityn Buchanan; brother, Clifton (Joyce) Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister, Carlene Ross of Denison, Texas.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and an incredible group of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, JoAnn Pirozzo; and brothers, James and Phinis Weaver.

Rose loved being an elementary school teacher, spending more than 30 years with the Weber School District. She was proud of her influence where she could have a positive impact on her students. She received her master’s degree in education from Weber State University.

Rose was a follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her lifetime. She taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and played the organ and piano for countless services. Her faith was paramount and she lived her Christian faith by helping others. She attended Washington Heights Church.
