Rose Speer Martinez

Rose Speer Martinez, 99, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022.

She was born May 26, 1923 in Elvado, New Mexico to Luis and Nestor Romero Speer.

She was married to Joe Martinez. He passed away in 1964. Following his death, Felix Garcia was her companion.

Rose lived in Washington Terrace for most of her life.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Rose loved to serve people and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was an expert at crocheting and loved to play Bingo.

Rose is survived by her son, Jesse (Maureen) Garcia, daughter-in-law, Julie Martinez, son-in-law, Rick Guire, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Martinez, sons, Larry Martinez, Harry Martinez, daughter, Debbie Guire, three sisters, and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, Utah. The family will meet with friends Thursday, June 23^rd from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Height’s Memorial Park, 4500 Washington, Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
