Our loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Rose W. Burton, 98, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 26, 2014.  She was born in Rochester, New York on September 9, 1915 to John N. and Mary McDonald Wurzer.

Rose married George Burton in 1952 in Washington D.C.  Prior to her marriage, she worked for Inter American Statistical Institute in Washington D.C. and retained a lifelong interest in all things financial, statistical, and the stock market.  She and George loved traveling the world together.  She also enjoyed tennis, bowling, and crosswords.

She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and attended Mass regularly.

Rose is survived by her husband, George, North Ogden; daughters, Leslie Ann Burton, Charlotte, NC; Jean Marie Burton, Phoenix, AZ,  and Barbara Rose Burton, Mesa, AZ; and sister, Emma Butcher, Rochester, NY.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
