Ronald Charles Christensen passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. Ron was the second oldest of five children born on September 14, 1952, to Willis (Chris) and Afton (Eastman) Christensen.
He worked at Defense Depot Ogden, Wolfe’s Sporting, Hill AFB, and upon retirement for Weber School District. Ron married Janice Holden in January 1978. They and their two children were sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in March 1996. Ron and Janice served a service mission in inner city Ogden for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ron served as Elders Quorum President and Sunday School Presidency, and Sunday School Teacher.
Ron’s love of the outdoors was started by camping trips with his family and continued throughout his life. He developed lifelong friendships through numerous camping adventures and neighbors who became family. He was the first to rise in the morning, starting a fire, and the first to retire at the end of his day. Ron could also be found turning wrenches on his cars. He was also always the first one there to help a friend or neighbor or lend a helping hand.
Ron’s greatest joys in no particular order were cars (from his ’69 Chevelle SS to Big Red), yardwork, camping, grandkids, his two children, dog and his wife. Ron felt that his greatest accomplishment in life were his children, Derek (Vanji) Christensen and Sarah Farnsworth; and grandchildren, Makell Lowe-Christensen, Nash Christensen, Gage Farnsworth, and Ava Farnsworth.
Ron leave’s behind his wife, children, four grandkids, sister, JoAnn (Tom), Cheryl (Rod), Craig (Lynda); in-laws, Roy and Arlene Holden; and beloved dog, Axel. Those welcoming him home are his parents; sister Pat Crosbie; brothers-in-law, Bob Cordova and Jerry Crosbie, and granddaughter, Kylee Slater.
The family would like to thank the many friends and family for love and support in the months leading up to his death, and the services of Solstice Hospice Care. Dad would not have made it without the unwavering support and dedication from Mom and supporting cast and crew.
Per Ron’s wishes a graveside service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A luncheon to follow the services at the Riverdale Stake Center, 4000 Parker Drive.
