Ronald L. Bingham

March 25, 1943 ~ March 10, 2022

Ronald L. Bingham, a well-loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2022, after a long battle with heart disease. He passed away at Ogden Regional Medical Center hand in hand with the love of his life and surrounded by family.

Ron was born in Bremerton, WA on March 25, 1943 to his parents Donald and Almina Bingham. Ron served a proselytizing mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern United States Region (Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana) from 1963 to 1965. After returning, he served in the Air Force reserve for 11 years.

Ron met his bride, Shanna Hoffmann at an LDS Church Stake Dance in Whittier, CA in August 1965 and was married to his forever love for time and all eternity on January 14, 1966 in the Los Angeles Temple. He was a business owner for 30 years and worked for the LDS Church on Temple Square for 10 years.

Ron dedicated his life serving others around him. He had a deep love for his Savior Jesus Christ and tried to pattern his life with the same selfless love and service to others. Ron gave the best “bear hugs”. He had no enemies and would even make a stranger feel important and loved. He has made an impact on all that knew him.

Ron had a deep love for nature, the outdoors, and The Boy Scouts of America. He served as the LDS Regional Representative for the Pacific Northwest as well as the Assistant Council Commissioner for the Evergreen Area Council. He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow. He volunteered to represent Akela in ceremonies of advancement for the Scouts in Washington and Utah over multiple decades. Ron loyally served the LDS Church in one of his favorite positions as Bishop of the Everett, WA 3rd Ward. He loved the youth and maintained connections with them for many decades. He also served as a Stake Young Men’s President, Scoutmaster for several years, Stake Sunday School Superintendent, Branch President at the Ogden Regional Hospital, as a trainer at the Ogden Temple for 5 ½ years, a temple worker in Brigham City, High Priest Group Leader, Elder Quorum Leader, and every other position you could think of.

Ron is survived by his beautiful wife, Shanna of 57 years and his children, Ron (Cindy) Bingham, Michelle (Jim) Rhoads, Jon (Hollie) Bingham; brother, Rulon (Judy) Bingham; and sister; Norene (Rich) Bigelow. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Skyler, Tanner, Parker, Cooper, Kristin (Seth), Allie (Jon), Hailee (Taylor), Carly (Joseph), Kennedy (Dallan), Thomas, Andrew, Nat, Stephanie (Hank), Savannah, Jack, Charlie, Scarlett, and 13 great-grandchildren.
