Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Bruce Wicks on March 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Eugene, Oregon on October 20, 1943, Robert was the beloved son of Donald and Hazel Wicks, who predeceased him, as did his only son, Matthew Wicks. Robert leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Doris Wicks, and his two loving daughters, Amy Wicks and Carey Berry (Adrian Berry). His spirit will continue to shine through his grandchildren, Chayton and Adelaide Berry, and Emilie Wicks, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his dear sister, Louise Scott, and his brother, Joe Wicks.

An alumnus of Weber State College, Robert earned his bachelor’s degree after serving his country with honor during two tours in Vietnam. Upon returning, he embarked on a fulfilling career, first with First Interstate Bank and later with Browning, where he worked until his well-deserved retirement. Robert was an avid outdoorsman. He always loved hunting and fishing. Lucky friends and family had many adventures where bets would be placed for first, biggest, and most fish. Bob was always the life of the party. He could build or repair nearly anything and was always ready to lend a hand. A lifelong reader, Robert always had a book open and sometimes napped as he read. He loved trying out new recipes and was a very talented cook. Those who knew Bob will remember him for his captivating stories and his love for long, lingering dinners filled with animated conversation. His teasing nature was a testament to the love he held for those around him.

He never missed anything and often had a gleam in his eye and a joke waiting patiently. A big man with a big, soft heart, he was known to tear up when reflecting on the goodness of life, particularly the blessings of love and family.

A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at Carol Beltz’s House, located at 655 N 130 W, Mantua, Utah.

Bob Wicks will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
