Robert Knox Wilson

February 25, 1945 — November 27, 2022

Robert “Bob” Knox Wilson, 77, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Corinne, UT with his eternal sweetheart by his side. He was born on February 25, 1945 to Quinton James and Sonoma Snow Wilson in Brigham City, UT.

He graduated from Box Elder High School and Utah State University. He served in the Central States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many church callings over the years, but he always said that his favorite one was serving as a Temple ordinance worker alongside Marsha. They first served in the Ogden temple and transitioned to the Brigham City temple once it opened. It was a sad day for him when he had to relinquish this calling due to declining health.

Bob served in the US Army from 1969-1972. He then transitioned to the Army Reserves, Navy Reserves and then to the Air Force Reserves serving in the 419th CES and retired after 26 years of service. He worked for Bear River Health Department as an Environmental Health Specialist.

Bob married the love of his life, Marsha Gilbert on March 21, 1969 in the Logan Temple, they were the epitome of a happy marriage for 53 years. Bob and Marsha were inseparable and enjoyed many wonderful memories together. They spent their early years in Barstow, CA, Bear River, UT and Nampa, ID before returning to Corinne, UT where they have resided for over 45 years.

He was never one to sit around, you would always find him busy on the farm, even after a long days work. He loved to be outside and was a master gardener. It became a fun tradition with his kids to place a bet on who would get the first ripe tomato, and of course he always won. He was always his kids’ first phone call when they needed advice, and always knew the right thing to say. He was extremely generous, kind, and loving. He was a great listener and had the best sense of humor, you always knew he was up to something when you saw his mischievous grin.

His favorite things were to travel, camp (especially in Wind Rivers), tease and play with his grandkids and spend time with his family. Upon retirement, he especially enjoyed going on fishing trips with his good friend Doug. He was a true example of patience, love, and hard work. It has been said many times by his kids and grandkids that he is what they strive to be like.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marsha Wilson; children, Sonja (Lynn) Chugg, Jason (Katherine) Wilson, Carmen (Todd) Gillies, Amanda Marin and Jody (Tommy) Hood; daughter-in-law, Spring Wilson; brother, Ford (Edie) Wilson; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, with two on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, Quinton and Sonoma Wilson; son, Justin Wilson; and granddaughter, Truce Wilson.
