Robert Homer Jones

WASHINGTON TERRACE – Robert Homer Jones passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born June 8, 1935 in Butlerville, Utah, a son of Homer Ferman Jones and Blanche Eva Wilkinson.

He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Kimball. They have been happily married for 60 years. He was a devoted father and husband.  He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy.

Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as Bishop and in several Bishoprics.

He loved his family and was a tender and compassionate caregiver to his wife.  Over the years he cared for the widows in the neighborhood.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; their children, Kathy (Elden) Welchman, Cheryl (Don) Byrne, Dale (Jody) Jones, Linda (Dale) Winterton, Marilyn (Mark) Barnes, Robert (Deanna) Jones; 31 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois V. McCray.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30 ^th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
