Robert Gordon Hewitt

Robert Gordon Hewitt, 80, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017. He was born on January 27, 1937, the son of Gordon and Doris Weatherston Hewitt. He was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Weber High School in 1955.

He served in the US Air Force for four years, stationed in Iran and Paris for two years each, and finished in George AFB in California.

Bob married Virginia P. Ray; she passed away on May 25, 2015.

Bob loved his tranquil cabin in Hanna, Utah, which he built himself, with the help of his children, George and Annie.

Bob worked as a Production Control Supervisor at Hill Air Force Base. After Bob retired he worked for Wal-Mart in Riverdale for 17 years; he was affectionately known by the children as “Grandpa Bob.”

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially loved his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his son, George (Tauna); daughter, Annie (Jinks) and Lynette; grandchildren, Shania, Mathew, Ethan, Danny (Osiris), Adrian, Tristan, Jamie, and Arthur; and his best buddy, Bruce Curry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents, and granddaughter, Shannon.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
