Robert Eugene Hardy

Robert Eugene Hardy, 71, of Syracuse, Utah passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday September 30, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Robert was born in Ogden, Utah to Devere and Kathryn Hess and graduated Ben Lomond High School in 1964 and Weber State University after two years of auto mechanics.

He married his loving wife, Karen Stephens on June 20, 1969 In the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Robert retired from Hill Field in 1999 and then Ogden diesel after 10 years.

He enjoyed playing jokes on people, camping and fishing, and had several model boats, planes and cars that he spent his spare time delicately piecing together.

Robert was a loving and proud father of his four children and 17 grandchildren, Shane Robert Hardy (three children: Nikita, Cody, Kaleese), Ogden Utah, Jennifer (Akasha) Hardy, (six children: Brenna, Cody, Kylie, Corey, Katerina, Haley) Malad Idaho, Valerie Hardy (six children: Natosha, Taylor, Heather, Jade, Maddie, Phoenix) Clearfield, Utah, Brian Stephens Hardy (three children: Braeden, Hailey, Payton) South Jordan Utah.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his wife Karen Stephens Hardy, Syracuse, Utah as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse 9th Ward, 1525 W. 1175 So., Syracuse, Utah.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
