December 12, 1937 — January 24, 2024

Robert Myers Stott (Bob), loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on December 12, 1937, in Riverton, Utah, a son of Rolla William Stott and Gwena Joyce Myers. He graduated from Davis High School in 1956, and later attended Weber State College. He joined the United States Navy in 1957, where he was deployed in the Pacific on Navy escort USS Whitehurst.

He married Rexeene Starkey in Layton, Utah on April 18, 1959. They were later divorced but continued to raise three children. He married Doris Christy Slate on April 12, 1978, in Layton, Utah.

Robert worked for Marquardt Corporation at Little Mountain before dedicating his career to Boeing Aerospace in Seattle Washington, where launching Space Shuttle Columbia from Kennedy Space Center was a career highlight. After retirement, Robert donated his time to political work with the Tea Party of Utah and Davis High School Reunion Committee.

Robert will be remembered for his beautiful woodworking skills, his ability to fix anything, his helpful nature, writing his “stories” and a hard day’s work. He loved the rodeo, family trips to Lava Hot Springs, listening to the jets out of HAFB, and flying his flag collection to display his love of our country, and the freedoms we all share.

He is survived by his children, Robert Myers Stott, Jr. (Cari Waite) of Logan, Utah, Bobette Stott of Toluca Woods, Calif., JoDee Stott Valerio (Cary) of Bountiful, Utah, and his stepson, Gregory Brent Sperry of Willard, Utah. Four grandsons, James, Eric (Shani Dennis), Brayden and Noah, one granddaughter, Elizabeth, one step-granddaughter, Cheyenne, and three great-grandchildren, Maddalyn, Eric Jr. and Sophia.
