Robert “Bob” Critchlow, 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

He was born on January 5, 1932 in Ogden Utah. He is the son of Lucian and Erma Stratton Critchlow.

Bob married Wanda “Wendy” Lee Greear and enjoy the many wonderful years together before she suddenly passed away in 1979. They had four children together; Val (Jim), Scott (Sally), Curt, Donna (Jeff). Together they also have many wonderful, grand and great grandchildren.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Bob said one of his favorite jobs during his service was painting the runway signs. The best part of his military service was meeting his wife in Oklahoma during the time he was stationed there.

Bob worked at Safeway as a meat cutter after his service with the military. He loved that job! After that, he worked for Mountain Bell (Lumen) for many years where he retired. He worked as a central office technician for about 35 years.

Bob was very active. He loved basketball and played for Mound Fort Jr. High. He also loved woodworking and working with his hands. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Feeding the ducks, long drives, cherry picking and trips to Wendys, were some of his favorites. Bob was a social butterfly. For the past six years during his time at Apple Village, he could be found walking the halls and keeping residents laughing. He had the best smile! Chocolate milk and visitors made his smile so bright! Bob knew so many facts about everything. It was fun to learn from him and hear about all of his stories.

Bob was always a helping hand and always thought of others before himself. The advice that he would pass on to others would be “to think of others”. He definitely lived by that advice.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Apple Village. They took great care of him and showed him so much love. Another special thanks to Bristol hospice and his nurse Jamie who loved him so much.

A family graveside memorial will be held to commemorate his life.
