One of our last precious Veterans
Robert ‘Bob’ Albert Busico, age 98, passed away on May 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Tooele, Utah, on January 16, 1927. Bob was raised alongside his four sisters on and one brother on his father’s farm in Riverdale. A proud patriot, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy at age 16 during World War II and served from 1943 to 1945.
Following his return from the war, he settled in Ogden, where he began a long and dedicated career as a machinist with the Southern Pacific Railroad.
Bob married LouCil Chatelain in 1950 and shared four children together. Determined to improve his life for his wife and children, in 1959 he built a beautiful home in South Ogden.
He later married Celia Vasquez, and they remained together until her death on March 24, 2004.
Bob shared a remarkable relationship with Donna Larson, who gave him love and support to the end.
A man of skill and quiet determination, Bob had a natural gift for fixing anything. He especially loved carpentry and building clocks, each piece a testament to his craftsmanship and care. He took great pride in his appearance and his home, a place which became the heart of many countless cherished family gatherings, and the enduring legacy he built for his family.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, sharp wit, stories shared around the table, and the love he gave so freely. Bob’s spirit will love on in every family gathering, every repaired clock, and every memory passed down.
Bob is survived by his children, Steven Busico, Cinda Hansen (Jim), Robert Jr. (Dovie) Busico, Ricky Busico; stepdaughter, Pam Vasquez; as well as grandchildren, Brandy, Calley, Charles, James, Peter, Brittney, Brooke, Kristen, and Cassie; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Lucy.
